DYO Launch Lab
Camp for your most important work. DYO Launch Lab works with students who know what they want to work toward but need real structure to get there — not more encouragement, a system. Each engagement is built around how the individual student actually works, identified early in the program, so the structure fits them rather than asking them to fit a template.
How It Works
Launch Lab runs on DYO's ICE framework — Ideate, Create, Execute. Every session moves a student from an idea, through real, hands-on work, to something they've actually finished. Offered one-on-one or in a group setting, depending on the student.
What It Supports
Launch Lab is organized around six core areas:
- Interest & Direction Discovery — identifying real interests and translating them into a working direction
- Executive Function — planning, sequencing, and follow-through built through real practice, not instruction alone
- Work Habits & Independence — sustained, independent project work without constant outside direction
- Future Planning & Problem-Solving — breaking a larger goal into a real, workable sequence
- Self-Advocacy & Decision-Making — building the ability to state needs and make informed choices
- Employment & Self-Employment Readiness — practical preparation for work, including independent or entrepreneurial paths
A Note for Parents & Administrators
If a student has real goals but struggles to move from intention to action — starting projects and not finishing them, needing constant outside direction to stay on track, or losing momentum once a task gets hard or unclear — that gap often isn't about ability or motivation. It's about structure that fits how they actually work. Launch Lab is built to identify that structure early and build real, independent skill on top of it, in the areas above: planning and follow-through, self-advocacy, and the habits behind sustained, independent work. For families and administrators evaluating whether this fits a specific student's goals, we're glad to talk through it directly.
